Taxonomic studies on Trichosteleum (Sematophyllaceae) in Brazil

摘要
In this study we recognize nine species of Trichosteleum in Brazil providing a diagnostic key, descriptions, diagnosis, and taxonomic notes for all Brazilian species. Additional illustrations are provided for species poorly illustrated in the literature. A new species endemic to the Amazonian Rainforest is described as T. amazonicum. Trichosteleum sublaevigatum is proposed as a new synonym of T. glaziovii. Trichosteleum consanguineum, T. dicranoides, T. spirale, and T. papillosissimum are proposed as new synonyms of T. papillosum. Four species are endemic to Brazil: T. amazonicum, T. amnigenum, T. glaziovii, and T. longiacuminatum.
