摘要
Aim. To compare the primary stability following dental implant placement between the maxillary and mandibular edentulous sites.Materials and methods. This was a comparative, descriptive study, where all data of the patients who reported to the dental clinics in Saveetha Dental College, SIMATS, Chennai, India was obtained. Patient records were collected between March 2020 and March 2021. Data was collected and tabulated, then analyzed, recorded in Microsoft Excel software and subjected to statistical analysis using IBM SPSS statistics analyzer v.23.0.Results and discussion. The total sample size of the current study was of 566 cases. In this study, dental implant placement was predominantly done in the age group of 29 to 38 years, and in the lower posterior region. Slight male predilection was seen. The most common values for primary stability were between 30-40 Ncm. A significant association between location and primary stability was observed.Conclusions.Within the limitations of the current study, we observed that the average primary stability was 30-40 Ncm, irrespective of location.
