摘要
The authors of the article consider a range of sources that have not so far been introduced into academic circulation, outlining the discussion of theoretical problems of literary translation by the staff members of Vsemirnaya Literatura Publishing House, M. L. Lozinsky and E. I. Zamyatin. They believed that literary translation was an integral part of literature, as well as an act of intercultural communication. They also claimed that the translator's task was to achieve the utmost degree of aesthetic equivalence to the original.
