摘要
Psammogeton uchaniense sp. nov. (Apiaceae; Pimpinelleae), found in arid, sandy areas of district Samba of Jammu and Kashmir, north-west India, is described and illustrated. It shares similarities with P. biternatus and P. canescens, but differs from these species in that it has a reduced peduncle, axillary and terminal umbels, unequal bracts, bracteoles and hairy mericarps and fewer rays per inflorescence. A thorough description, photographs, a map of the collection site, an identification key to all Indian species of Psammogeton and a table with the morphological features of related species are all presented.
