Recently in Nature Communications, Wan and co-workers intro-duced a surface-adsorption-induced radical-relay concept into het-erogeneous Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of quinolines and alcohols, which is totally different from homogeneous catalysts involving cy-clopalladated intermediates. The electron-deficient Pd nanopar-ticles demonstrated excellent catalytic performance and negligible Pd leaching after seven cycles.
