Analysis of trends in research on food safety between the years 2015- 2021

Food security is a determining aspect of the socioeconomic development in which several factors intervene: environmental, economic, political, cultural, technological, legal, social and institutional. The research carries out a systematic review with meta-analysis tools whose objective is to identify the main factors associated with food security and food insecurity and the trend of research in this field. 233 articles published in the period 2015-2021 were analyzed, observing in the selected sample a growing trend in the publications of the topic from 2015-2017 whit 154 articles and from 2018-2021 with 82 articles. For the bibliometric analysis, the following indicators were considered: distribution of articles by year, most cited authors and articles, and the countries with the highest contributions. The main factors associated with food security and insecurity and knowledge gaps were identified from the critical analysis of the most relevant research.
