Objective. This article seeks to correlate the reuse of research data in the agenda of contemporary theories of Information Science, proposed by Carlos Alberto avila Araujo, in 2018. Method. Thirty-two qualified and representative articles on the topic of reuse of research data were selected, using the ProKnow-C instrument. After the selection, a systemic analysis was performed, where the objectives of the articles were classified according to contemporary theories. Results. The results show that in scientific production and communication, studies have focused on understanding the aspects that guide the concept of reuse of research data, identifying factors that limit reuse and identifying aspects related to research data curation. In the studies about the subjects, the articles sought to identify the barriers to sharing and reusing data, the incentives that can encourage researchers to reuse research data and to identify the characteristics involved in the behavior of searching for these data. In the metric studies of information, it was possible to identify the citation metric as the most used to identify the reuse of data. Conclusions. It was found that the articles focused on theories focused on scientific production and communication, followed by those involving studies on subjects and metric studies of information. This article showed that the Information Science paradigm has been shifting towards an axis of studies on research data. It still does not deal with a replacement of the current paradigm, but it shows that Data Science can work together with the existing paradigms. The challenge for Information Science, in this context, is to relate the technical factors dealt with in the reuse of research data with a more humane Information Science, focused on citizen participation and overcoming social problems.
