摘要
In the proposed work, a two-dimensional microcavity ring with waveguide structure is designed and simulated to sense the existence of malignant cells in the bioanalyte. Two-dimensional photonic crystal (PhC) sensor is designed and analysed using MIT MEEP tool. Rods in air structure is used to implement the proposed ring with bus waveguide structure. Five normal (INOK) cells and oral cancerous (YD-10B) cells are considered for the analysis of sensor performance. The effect of variation in the transmission spectrum is analysed for the presence of malignant cells in the test sample. The structural parameters of the design are fine-tuned to enhance the sensitivity of the sensor. The two most important parameters, Q-factor and sensitivity, are calculated from the obtained results. The highest sensitivity of 995 nm/RIU with a Q-factor of 70 is achieved. The sensor proposed in the present work will be a better candidate for highly accurate sensing devices for biomedical applications.
