摘要
In the present work, we have prepared a series of different concentrations of SrAlBO4: RE3+ (RE = Dy3+ and Sm3+) phosphors by using conventional combustion method and characterized through FTIR and photoluminescence spectra. The photoluminescence spectrum of Dy3+ ion-activated SrAlBO4 phosphor exhibits two characteristic bands about 483 nm and 575 nm which emit blue and yellow color due to F-4(9/2) ? H-6(J/2) (J = 15,13) transition of Dy3+ ions, respectively, monitored at 350 nm excitation wavelength. The photoluminescence spectrum shows that the synthesized SrAlBO4: Sm3+ phosphor material can be well excited under 403 nm to get yellow, orange and red emission wavelength at 562 nm, 598 nm and 644 nm, respectively. The energy migration mechanism of Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions was determined to be dipole-dipole (d-d) and quadrupole-quadrupole (q-q) interactions, respectively, based on Dexter's theory. The CIE color coordinates of SrAlBO4: Dy3+ material are located in the blue and yellow regions, while the SrAlBO4: Sm3+ phosphor's color coordinates are positioned in the orange-red regions. The influence of varying concentrations of rare earth ions on luminescence emission intensity was also examined. The experimental result indicates that SrAlBO4 phosphor doped with Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions exhibits potential from various applications involving white light emission.
