摘要
The performance degradation of asphalt pavement by moisture intrusion has been widely concerned. This paper investigated the effect of moisture on asphalt fractions and interface failure mechanism by moisture-induced using inclined shear test. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed reduction of asphalt aromaticity by moisture led to the decline of asphalt cohesion. Fluorescence microscopy (FM) images indicated humid environment aggravated degradation of polymer particles in modified asphalt. Failure surface analysis confirmed moisture damage extended from asphalt to asphalt-aggregate interface. Although moisture enhanced the polarity of asphalt, moisture intrusion into the interface seriously weakened adhesion capability of asphalt and aggregate.
