摘要
This study offers a perspective on the process of canonisation of Ferdinand III, King of Castile and Leon, which took place during the 17th century, focusing on the work of the agents and corporations that promoted it, acting between Seville, Madrid and Rome. It examines the mobilisation of resources to finance the cause, as well as the celebrations that took place in Madrid in 1671 on the occasion of Pope Clement X's brief to extend the cult of Ferdinand III. In addition, the interest of the Castilian aristocracy in linking themselves to the saintly king is analysed, as well as the projection of the cult beyond the crown of Castile, particularly in Italy and the Indies.
