From three Andean paintings where Saint Michael triumphs over the devil in the Andes (Sucre, Arequipa and Cuzco), dated between 1720 and 1758 including poems, the political use of the Archangel made by the Monarchy is analized. Through several sources as angelic and political theology treatises published in Spain, and sermons or inedit minutes attending the Andean geography, I delve into the political keys which, associated with Bible ideas as combat, victory or loyalty, the Archangel became to mean in the Hispanic imaginary in the Andes.
