摘要
In recent years, sound-pressure-induced positioning errors have become a critical issue in hard disk drives (HDDs) for data centers. As these positioning errors often contain components with frequencies higher than the servo bandwidth, we conducted a feasibility study of adaptive feed-forward (AFF) control to suppress the vibrations. By placing a sensor to detect the vibration on the pivot shaft, the correlation between the sensor signal and head vibration was obtained. The HDD with AFF control applied is assumed to have a dual-stage actuator system, where the secondary actuator (SA) compensates for the sound-pressure-induced positioning errors. Simulation results confirmed that the proposed control effectively suppressed the sound-pressure-induced vibrations.
