Analysis of knowledge evolution in PROMETHEE: A longitudinal and dynamic perspective

摘要：
Since the preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) was proposed, thousands of papers have already been published in journals indexed by Web of Science (WoS) addressing applications across various areas. This paper aims to dynamically present the knowledge evolution concerning the cognitive structure and transmission trajectories from a longitudinal perspective. To this end, we retrieved 1351 documents covering years from 1982 to 2021 and detected the interrelationships and characteristics of essential themes, as well as some key thematic areas formed by their evolution. The most critical and noteworthy milestone documents were also identified and illustrated in chronological sequence to provide a good entry point for newcomers in this domain.
