摘要：

This article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church during the struggle of the Soviet state against the military aggression of Nazi Germany in 1941-1945. The work reveals the reasons for the patriotic positions of the Russian Orthodox Church, clearly identified already in the first days of the Great Patriotic War. The authors consider the factors that led to the transformation of the policy of the Soviet authorities towards the church after the start of the war. The article analyzes the ascetic activity of church hierarchs during the Great Patriotic War and considers the contribution of the Russian Orthodox Church to the victory over fascism.
