摘要
In this present work, we successfully develop copper oxide (CuO) nanoplates using a facile precipitation process without utilizing any convoluted equipment and high-cost raw materials. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, and the energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis revealed the formation of pure phase CuO powder. The sample exhibits an interconnected nanoplates-like structure, which facilitates the fast movement of charge carriers throughout the sample. For the sample, a moderate overpotential (492 mV vs SCE) is sufficient to achieve a current density of 10 mA/cm2. It exhibits a low Tafel slope of 69.5 mV dec-1 and achieved long-term stability over 5000 cyclic voltammetry (CV) cycles.
