A modern romance? Public International Law and Constitutional Law in the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court

This article analyses the work of the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court from an International Human Rights Law perspective. The focus is on four of the competences the Constitution has given the Court: constitutional control of treaties and norms; the norm consultation action (accion de consulta de norma) and the control of the states of emergency declared by the President. The authors present a qualitative analysis of how the Constitutional Court uses different sources of International Human Rights Law.
