Investigation of the Effects of Carbon Dioxide Laser Texturing Parameters on Roughness and Contact Angle for Dual-Phase Steel (DP 1180)

摘要
The surface texture process was done with carbon dioxide laser on dual-phase steel (DP 1180). The effects of the parameters of the carbon dioxide laser on the contact angle, skewness and kurtosis values were investigated, and the laser parameters required for obtaining the highest contact angle, lowest skewness and highest kurtosis have been optimized by the Taguchi method. In addition, the effects of these parameters on contact angle, skewness and kurtosis were calculated. The most effective parameters were laser power with 33.03% for contact angle, overlap ratio with 52.48% for skewness and overlap ratio with 41.34% for kurtosis. In the optimization result to obtain the optimum values, contact angle, skewness and kurtosis were found as 145.45, 0.07 and 3.39, respectively. These results are better than those obtained in the experiments for all three quantities. Since the results of the confirmation experiments performed with the parameters suggested by the Taguchi method are quite close to the expected results, it can be said that the Taguchi method is a reliable method in such studies. The results are supported by main effect plots and regression equations.
