摘要
Flood events recurrently cause high levels of material damage to buildings. A complementary approach to reducing flood-related risks is flood prevention. This article therefore discusses three initiatives of the Free State of Saxony that contribute to activating and strengthening the precautionary measures of private households: the Competence Center for Flood Precaution, the Saxon Directive on Private Flood Precaution and the Flood Preparedness Certificate.
