Achieving high strength and ductility in Ni10Cr6WFe9Ti high entropy alloy by regulating lattice distortion

摘要
In this study, selective laser melting (SLM) was used to fabricate the NixCryWFe9Ti high entropy alloys (HEAs), and the nickel and chromium element were added in HEAs to solve the strength and plasticity problems. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Ni10Cr6WFe9Ti alloy and Ni6Cr4WFe9Ti HEA alloy were evaluated. The microstructure of these alloys consisted of face centered cubic (FCC) phase matrix with an unknown phase, and the heterogeneous lattice distortion caused by atomic size difference. This characteristic structure makes the mechanical properties of the Ni10Cr6WFe9Ti alloy (sigma UTS = 962 MPa, Rp0.2 = 705 MPa, epsilon = 21.6 %) are signif-icantly improved compared to the Ni6Cr4WFe9Ti HEA alloy (sigma UTS = 971 MPa, Rp0.2 = 710 MPa, epsilon = 12.3 %).
