摘要
Background: Patient safety is a highly complex area in both somatic and mental health care that has been of interest for decades. The work environment of nurses has been associated with safety, patient outcomes, and nurse sensitive indicators, but the underlying factors of the relationship is sparsely examined. This scoping review aims to identify and map the existing evidence of the relationship between nurses' work environment and patient safety. Methods: The scoping review will be conducted with the consultation of knowledge users throughout the process, in line with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology. The protocol is reported according to PRISMA-P. Discussion: The review will provide a summary of existing evidence and clarify key concepts, thereby informing further research. Trial registration: This protocol was registered in the Open Science Framework. Registration
