摘要
A graphene terahertz metamaterial composed of multiple square split ring resonators is proposed to realize the excellent functions of sensing and switching based on plasmon-induced transparency (PIT). The switch, operating at multiple frequencies can be easily achieved by adjusting the Fermi level of graphene, corresponding to a maximum amplitude modulation of 89.5 %. When the device is employed as a sensing platform, the multi-PIT effect can improve the sensitivity due to greater interactions between the metamaterial and analytes, leading to a maximum sensitivity of 380 GHz/RIU. These findings suggest that the proposed metamaterial can serve as a multipurpose device with broad applicability.
