Mental Health Rehabilitation of Children and Adolescents with long COVID

Rehabilitation in children and adolescents is a relatively young healthcare concept in Austria, which is financed by social insurances. In addition to groups with indications for mobilization and neuromobilization, diseases with an impairment of mental health also belong to the group of indications. The Kokon Bad Erlach provides a 5-week mental health rehabilitation course for children and adolescents with somatic long COVID and mental health impairment. In a multimodal treatment plan, body-related functional therapy units, psychological and psychotherapeutic support and medical visits are equally combined with educative units in order to achieve an optimal result. The actual case numbers of patients are too low to allow statistical conclusions and only a description of the clinical characteristics is possible for the moment. Further prospective and standardized data collections are planned.
