摘要
The article uses data from the youth study "Lebenswelten" [life-worlds] to analyze the influence of social and regional inequalities on the educational aspirations of young people in Austria. In the survey, 14,432 pupils in Austria from grades 8 to 10 were asked about their goals in life, attitudes and living conditions. In addition to urban-rural comparisons, the socio-economic status of the family, the educational background of the parents and the language background serve as indicators of inequality. There are close links between regional and social inequalities, with both dimensions of inequality providing independent explanations for different educational aspirations.
