摘要：
The article introduces a new thematic series on "Usuelle Wortverbindungen" (UWV). This umbrella term stands for multi-word expressions of different nature with the common denominator that their constituents occur together with high frequency in corpora. In the context of a brief research outline, different types of UWV with their particular properties are presented. The role of UWV for language acquisition and their function for a native-like language use will be explained and desiderata for language didactics will be derived. An outlook on all contributions of the thematic focus follows.
