Influence mechanism of environmentally transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior for the environment: A moderated mediation model

摘要
The goal of reducing carbon emissions requires organizations to instill organizational citizenship behavior for the environment among their employees. The effect of environmentally transformational leadership on employees' organizational citizenship behavior for the environment was examined based on normative activation model. The mediating effect of employees' personal norm and the moderating effect of leader-member exchange differentiation were discussed. The results showed that environmentally transformational leadership can stimulate employees' organizational citizenship behavior for the environment. Employees' personal norm partially mediated the relationship between environmentally transformational leadership and employees' organizational citizenship behavior for the environment, and leader-member exchange differentiation negatively moderated this relationship. Based on the findings of the investigation, implications at both the leadership level and the organizational level were put forward to help firms improve their environmental performance.
