Education and the Pandemic: the challenges for teaching the Portuguese Language

摘要
Starting from the educational scenario provided by the COVID-19 pandemic, this research aims to raise some reflections on the challenges of teaching Portuguese during the period of remote classes. For this, it was based on authors such as Antunes (2003), Morin (2009), Moran (2000), Silva (2002), among others. As a methodology, a field research was adopted, through a qualitative approach, since the researchers observed the Portuguese Language classes, in High School classes, in a state school, in the city of Teresina-PI. It was found the difficulty of students and teachers in handling applications such as Google Meet etc; the obstacles faced by Portuguese language teachers when seeking to centralize teaching in the text, in addition to finding themselves in a position that required the development of didactic-pedagogical strategies; in addition, students in remote classes had poor learning. It was observed, therefore, the complexity of teaching and learning and the need for adaptation and overcoming on the part of teachers and students.
