摘要
Background: There is not a lot of published research on the long-term effects that violence in the workplace has on physicians. Objectives: This study aims to Analyze the profile of scientific publications on Patient-Initiated Violence on Physicians, checking trends and highlighting research opportunities. The sub-objectives of this study encompass the evaluation of the impact on the quality of life of healthcare workers, as well as the identification and implementation of appropriate interventions to address any observed negative effects. Methods: By conducting a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis using the PubMed and Scopus databases, a comprehensive coverage was assured. The data was subjected to a rigorous statistical analysis in which various aspects were examined, including the types of studies conducted, the methodologies utilized, the characteristics of the participants, the prevalence of violence exposure, and the results. Results: There were a total of seven distinct categories of outcomes revealed by the analysis. These categories focused predominantly on the examination of the physical and psychological effects experienced by those affected by the investigated phenomenon. In addition, the analysis cast light on the identification of perpetrators involved in the observed incidents and the various coping strategies employed by those affected. Conclusions: This analysis, along with previous ones, has found that there is a connection between workplace violence and negative effects on one's health. Emotional responses, such as wrath and fear, and psychosomatic symptoms, such as tension, are examples of impacts that last for a long time. Other types of cognitive shifts include changes in attitude towards patients.
