The objective of this work was to analyze the scientific production on gender violence, through a scientometric review with a global approach, from the concept of complexity, under the method of bibliometric analysis, using Bibliometrix and Rstudio to analyze the data obtained from the Scopus database with special emphasis on the period 1980 to 2024, without denying the mention of sources prior to the referred periods. For the present study, a selection of 2534 articles published in Scopus was made, interpreting the data obtained quantitatively and qualitatively. The results are oriented to the identification of notable moments of greater volume of scientific production, which indicates a high interest in the development of specific topics from different approaches of Science, which corresponds to the global perspectives established by multilateral organizations. Among the conclusions, the verification of the theoretical consolidation and the exponential emergence of an academic community oriented to the development of new knowledge through the integral study of gender violence is important, as well as the verification of a theoretical approach to gender violence from the Social Sciences, however, the need to generate research from an interdisciplinary approach was detected, given the complexity of the phenomenon.
