摘要
Affinity groups, defined as groups that form around a shared identity, can allay feelings of isolation and foster inclusion among historically excluded populations (HES). The purpose of this viewpoint article is to present an evidence-based model for creating and sustaining affinity groups for HES in nursing programs. These groups address diversity, inclusion, and belongingness in nursing programs. More research is needed to determine potential impact of affinity groups on retention and academic progression of HES.(c) 2023 The Authors.
