摘要
This article gives a short overview over the history of the development of the single-step approach of genomic breeding values estimation. This is accompanied by an introduction of the most fundamental aspects of the model. The article concludes with a short discussion of the challenge of introducing this new model in routine applications for the estimation of genomic breeding values.
