Sérgio Abreu e o histórico de sua contribuição com "Quaternaglia e Brazilian Guitar Quartet"

Brazilian Sergio Abreu (1948-2023) became known as an international guitarist in the 1960s and 1970s, initially with the Duo Abreu, formed with his brother Eduardo, and then in a brief solo career. Subsequently , the luthiery was established as its main activity . There is less attention paid to Sergio Abreu in musical production and, therefore, the main objective of this text is to highlight his experience and contribution as a producer with two quartets, Quaternaglia and the Brazilian Guitar Quartet. The historical method tried to surround itself with elements that showed the conditions in which the two groups arose and the moment in which Sergio Abreu was sought. As references, Morais (2007) was used, who studied the transcriptions of Sergio Abreu, the biographical book of Dias (2015), specialised magazines, data collection on group pages and contacts with members of the quartet, obtaining reports especially for this article.
