摘要
The objective of the article is to point out not only how Sergio Abreu's production as an arranger/transcriber can reveal decisive contributions to the expansion of the guitar repertoire, based on the survey, cataloguing, organization and editing of his production (known and unknown), but also outline the understanding of some of the possible procedures and processes that guided Sergio's thinking in the creation of such works (the concept ofmontage and the addition of understanding and artistic value to adapted works, for example). To this end, as an introduction, we held a brief discussion on the terminology "transcription/arrangement", discussed the historical perspectives and sociocultural functions of transcriptions and arrangements for guitar (focusing on the case of Sergio Abreu), until we listed the criteria established for the diplomatic editions of two recently discovered unpublished arrangements, presented in the attachments in ready-to-use PDF versions that underwent a general review by Eduardo Abreu: Suite de 4 Pecas, by Johann Pachelbel, for solo guitar; and Melodie, by C. W. Gluck, for guitar duo.
