Some recent work on bubble dynamics and bubbly liquids is outlined. The problemof compressibility corrections to the equation of motion of the bubble radius isaddressed. A precise method for the calculation of the bubble internal pressure isdescribed and some limit cases considered. Some numerical examples are included toillustrate the theoretical predictions. An experimental indication of the correctnessof the theory is given by "bubble-levitation" experiments. For bubbly liquids atsmall gas volume fractions results are shown for a "shock-tube" problem and for thepropagation of a sinusoidal pressure pulse through a thin layer of bubbly liquid.
