摘要：

Acute schistosomiasis generally occurs in the summer and autumn. The clinical manifestations are protean in nature. The chief symptoms are fever, sweating, cough, enlargement and tenderness of liver, eosinophilia, etc. Cases with overwhelming infection often end fatally as a result of continuous high fever with toxemia. Acute schistosomiasis usually runs a rapid course. If not properly treated, cirrhosis of liver with marked anemia, ascites and emaciation may rapidly set in.
