In 1980, U. Zimmermann first reported the new technique of electric field-induced fusion. It consists of two electric processes known as dielectrophoresis and reversible electrical breakdown. This technique provides an interesting approach which has been applied to the fusion of the mesophyll cell protoplasts, and impreved the experi In the experiments reported here, we first performed the electric field-induced fusion of Triticum aestivum L. mesophyll cell protoplasts, and improved the experimental conditions by studying the key factors of electric field-induced fusion.
