The world-famous Three Gorges—the Xiling, Wu and Qutang Gorges — are located in a 200-kilometre stretch of the mighty Yangtze River between Fengjie, in Sichuan Province, and Yichang, in Hubei Province, where mountain slopes on the two sides are steep and water flow is rapid. Among the numerous scenic spots in China’s mainland, Guilin and the Three Gorges are best known for their mountains
