FAR EASTERN ASSOCIATION OF TROPICAL MEDICINE

The first international medical conference to beld in China opened in Nan-king on October 3rd when the ninth congress of the Far Eastern Associationof Tropical Medicine,founded in Manila in 1908,started its six day sessionwith more than 400 leading members of the medical profession in all countriesin attendance.Before the convention of the first general meeting in the auditorium ofOfficers’Moral Endeavour Association at 9 a.m.,the delegates visited Dr.Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum.Cermonies for the inauguration of the congresstook place in the afternoon,when speeches of welcome were given by Mr.WangChing-wei,President of the Executive Yuan,General Huang Shao-hsiung,Minister of Interior,and Mr.Shih Ying,Mayor of Nanking.Mr.Lin Sen,Chairman of the Government,also sent a message of greeting to the gathering.In the evening,the members were entertained by Mr.Wang Ching-wei in the
