Inverse problem of elastica of a variable-arc-length beam subjected to a concentrated load

摘要
An inverse problem of elastica of a variable-are-length beam subjected to a concentrated load is investigated.The beam is fixed at one end,and can slide freely over a hingesupport at the other end.The inverse problem is to determinethe value of the load when the deflection of the action pointof the load is given.Based on the elasitca equations and theelliptic integrals,a set of nonlinear equations for the inverseproblem are derived,and an analytical solution by means ofiterations and Quasi-Newton method is presented.From theresults,the relationship between the loads and deflections ofthe loading point is obtained.
