930601 Pathological changes of peripheralnerves in polymyositis.YUAN Yun(袁云),et al.Dept Neurol,1st Teach Hosp,Beijing MedUniv,Beijing,100083.Chin J Neurol & Psychiat1993;26(1):35-37.The gastrocnemius and sural nerves were biop-sied in 6 patients with polymyositis with nosymptoms of peripheral neuropathy.In additionto myogenic changes in muscle biopsy specimens,neurogenic changes were also observed.Thequalitative and quantitative study in sural nervesrevealed demyelination and axonal degeneration.(Authors)
