Intercultural Citizenship Education in Foreign Language Teaching

English as a global language plays an important role in constructing the global community and developing global citizens.Foreign language education not only develops the learner’s ability to communicate,but also should have special education value which can develop the learner’s independent thinking ability and critical spirit and helps learners to critically understand the world through mother language and foreign language learning.This article is around such questions as the purpose of foreign language education,critical spirit,the relationship between foreign language teaching and citizen education,between intercultural citizenship education and foreign language education.
