摘要
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic can be a public health issue and an economic burden for a country. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has become one of the most effective prevention strategies for reducing an individual's risk of contracting HIV. Knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) regarding PrEP might provide an opportunity to reduce HIV incidence. This systematic review aims to provide an overview of KAP regarding PrEP and the influencing factors. Three databases: PubMed, Science Direct, and The Cochrane Library were used with the keywords and combination of "AND" and "OR" to search for relevant articles until 16 August 2024. This study included ten studies that assessed knowledge; nine studies that assessed attitudes; and six studies that assessed practices. There are still few published studies that assess KAP regarding PrEP. Therefore, we recommend exploring future research on KAP regarding PrEP across different populations and in countries with high HIV incidence.
