摘要
Metal phosphorous trichalcogenides (MPX3) exhibit a range of intriguing properties that position them as promising materials for various applications. They display moderate-to-wide-bandgap (1.2-3.5 eV) semiconductivity and ionic conductivity, making them suitable for optoelectronic and catalysis applications. These layered materials also exhibit a rich correlated phenomena originate from the interaction of d-orbitals. Their 2D nature facilitates easy exfoliation, enabling the exploration of magnetism, ferroelectricity, and superconductivity at reduced dimensions. This review comprehensively summarizes the structural, and magnetic properties of MPX3, delving into the interplay between crystal symmetry and magnetic ordering. We highlight how the magnetic interactions and anisotropic effects shape the complex magnetic landscapes of these materials. By synthesizing current knowledge, this review aims to offer insights into the fundamental physics governing the magnetic properties of MPX3 and their potential in spintronic applications, ultimately paving the way for innovative designs in future magnetic devices.
