摘要
In this Perspective, we delve into the exciting advancements of a copper-based Chan-Lam catalysis method, which has emerged as a powerful means to facilitate the formation of carbon-heteroatom bonds C-X (X = N, S, Se, S, P, Te). This oxidative cross-coupling reaction has gained substantial traction in recent years owing to its potential to replace expensive catalysts with more affordable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly alternatives. The catalyst's exceptional tunability through various simple ligands has enabled the achievement of asymmetric catalysis, a remarkable feat alone. This comprehensive review meticulously presents the early discovery and the latest developments in the realm of carbon-heteroatom coupling since 2021, with a precise focus on copper and nickel-based molecular, polymers, and nanocomposite catalysts. Developing environmentally benign, green, recyclable, and benchtop protocols is one of the most attractive future scopes in Chan-Lam coupling reactions.
