Graphene oxide/zinc-aluminum double layered hydroxide nanocomposite for hybrid supercapacitor

摘要
Graphene oxide (GO)/zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide (Zn-Al LDHs) composite was fabricated as an electrode for a supercapacitor. Nanosheets of Zn-Al LDHs were grown using the chemical bath deposition (CBD) approach, and GO is created using the modified Hummer's method. Zn-Al LDHs and GO are combined to create a nanocomposite that was utilized as a supercapacitor electrode. The morphological investigation of the as- prepared composite is resulting in electrodes with a porous nanosheet structure with a high crystalline structure. At a scan rate of 1 mV/s, the Zn-Al LDHs/GO composite achieves a specific capacitance of 351.9 F/g. Even after 2000 charge/discharge cycles, the capacitance maintains 94 % of its initial value. The maximum values of the energy and power densities are found to be 6.6 W.h/Kg and 23 kW/Kg, respectively. Using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), the specific capacitance and equivalent circuit of the electrode are determined (5 x 10-4 F for the GO/ZnAl-LDHs composite). The findings of this study indicate that a hybrid electrode structure based on GO and ZnAl-LDHs may be used as an effective electrode for future supercapacitor applications.
