摘要
Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis are severe mucocutaneous rare diseases with high morbid mortality characterized by generalized epidermal necrosis and skin detachment; They are distinguished from each other due to the extent of skin that is affected. Drugs are the main trigger factor, usually in the first weeks of treatment. These pathologies can be fatal when more than 60 % of the body surface is affected. The objective of the research was to describe distinctive clinical characteristics, underlying triggers and main multisystem manifestations through an updated analysis of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. It is essential to optimize the prognosis and mitigate the possible complications associated with these medical conditions of high complexity.
