Assessing quality of life among older people in Al-Baha Saudi Arabia: A cross-sectional Study

摘要
Objective: To evaluate the level of older people quality in life and identify the related factors in AlBaha, Saudi Arabia. Methodology: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted from January to March 2024 and included 113 older people selected by a convenience sampling technique from Al-Baha. The data were collected by the translated version of WHOQOL-OLD scale and was analyzed by SPSS. Results: Out of 113 subjects, 50.4% were female, and 49.6% males, and 90% lived in urban areas of Al-Baha region. Of total, 70.8% were married and 29.2% divorced or separated. The quality of life was moderate, with a mean score of 4.2 +/- 1.1. The satisfaction was moderate at 3.9 +/-.9. The people who lived in rural areas (mean 4.9 +/- 0.3) and those divorced or separated (mean 4.7 +/- 0.9) had higher quality of life. Conclusion: Older people in Al-Baha had moderate quality of life and moderate satisfaction on the provided health services. The rural residents and being divorced were significantly associated with higher quality of life.
