摘要
Borderline personality disorder is characterized by self-identity instability, negatively impacting academic performance and interpersonal relationships. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors associated with borderline personality disorder in medical students. The methodology employed a descriptive qualitative approach supported by a bibliographic review. Databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and Scopus were used to locate studies conducted between 2013 and 2023. The results highlight the importance of evaluating personality factors in medical students, as cognitive and emotional difficulties that may foster impulsive and unpredictable behaviors were identified. The need to include this evaluation in the selection process is emphasized, recognizing that the predisposition to certain personality traits could influence adaptability to academic and clinical environments. The conclusions underscore the relevance of implementing preventive measures to strengthen the evaluation of these factors, aiming to significantly contribute to the mental health and well-being of students.
