摘要
The aim of this article is to review the image of the Phoenician colonisation and the Tartessian period as a period (11(th)-5(th) centuries BC), fundamentally one of exchange and peaceful coexistence. From the assumptions of the Archaeology of Conflict and based on the archaeological evidence itself, we qualify this stereotype and warn about the snowballing bias that we have been generating from questionable readings. Using a historical and diachronic narrative, we offer a quick overview of Tartessos and its geographical periphery, where, although there are no traces of structural and open warfare, different forms of inter- and intra-community tension and violence were present, as testified by the walls, weapons, iconography, etc.
