Identification and Prediction for Dynamic Recrystallization of 2195 Aluminum Alloy During Hot Compression

摘要
To investigate dynamic microstructures of 2195 aluminum alloy that is widely used in the aerospace field, an identification method of dynamically recrystallized (DRXed) grains was proposed. In this paper, the change of grain orientation spread (GOS) was studied by EBSD and TEM when the material was compressed at different temperatures (330-510 degrees C), different strain rates (0.001-1 s-1) and different strains (0.1-1.6). The study showed that when a grain's GOS value was <= 1 degrees, it can be judged a DRXed grain. In addition, the kinetics model of DRX at the medium or high temperature was established. Meanwhile, hot compression deformation and the change in the volume fraction of DRXed grains were simulated by the Deform-3D finite element method based on the kinetic model. Thus, it showed that the model can accurately predict the volume fraction of DRXed grains at temperatures from 330 degrees C to 510 degrees C.
